A Better Place to Play Campaign Receives Large Donation to Fund ADA Ball Field at New Sports Park

The community-wide fundraising effort for three new recreational facilities in Edwardsville recently received additional funding for the proposed Sports Park by an anonymous donor. The $200,000 donation will go towards construction of the Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ball field at the Sports Park and gives the anonymous donor naming rights of the field, later to be announced.

A Better Place to Play Campaign Launches New Coupon Payment Method to Make Donating Easier

The A Better Place to Play campaign is increasing momentum with a new coupon booklet allowing individuals the option of making budgeted, monthly payments by mailing a check in with their contributions each month. This streamlined process was created to make donations easier for those wanting to give to either the Ice Rink/Teen Center, Sports Park, Spray and Play Park, or make a general donation to all three.

City of Edwardsville Breaks Ground on Spray & Play Park Near Downtown Edwardsville: Naming Rights Now Up for Grabs

In hard hats and with shovels in hand, City of Edwardsville officials, Edwardsville Community Foundation and other stakeholders today broke ground on the new $2 million Spray & Play Park located near downtown Edwardsville at the corner of South Main Street and Schwarz Road. Korte & Luitjohan Contractors, Inc. of Highland, Ill., was chosen as the contractor for the development.
